Hyundai Kona

As off late 2017 South Korean brand Hyundai launched their small SUV into the market, the Kona is sized somewhere between the I30 and the Tucson, coming in 4 trim levels and quite an extensive list of colour combinations, two tone paint options and 3 options for interior trim colours. potential buyers are spoilt for choice.
As well as an extensive list of colour options the buyer has a choice of

N/A 2.0 MPI  4 CYL engine mated to a 6 speed automatic gearbox putting out a reasonable 110 kw @ 6,500 RPM with 180 NM @ 4,500 RPM
or buyers have the option of a
1.6T GDI 4 CYL mated with a 7 speed DCT with standard all wheel drive putting out 130 kw @ 5,500 with 265 NM @ 1,500 RPM up to 4,500 RPM.

After testing both drive trains our choice is the 1.6T GDI, the unit itself feels as though it doesn't have to work as hard to keep up like the 2.0 MPI and the 7 speed DCT is silky smooth as well as more economical. in the highlander Kona you can expect to see creature comforts such as; heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, HUD (heads up display) and as off mid 2018 Hyundai has added GPS, DAB, an optional sunroof as well as an all new KRELL 7 speaker audio system with a built in sub woofer bringing the cabin to life with crisp audio quality and a lovely thumb from the sub woofer

Kona has a rather spacious cabin unlike most other cars of the same class, good visibility all round, privacy tinted glass in the rear (highlander model only) and more than comfortable seating for 5 adults. Kona sports a rather large cargo area with, 361 litres with the rear seats up and 1,143 litres with the rear seats folded. perfect for a weekend getaway, school run, grocery shopping or even the family pet.

Hyundai claims Kona will do
2.0 MPI                                                 1.6T GDI
9..7 L/100 URBAN                              8.0 L/100 URBAN
5.8 L/100 EXTRA URBAN                6.0 L/100 EXTRA URBAN
7.2 L/100 COMBINED                       6.7 L/100 COMBINED

Kona has a crash rating of 5 out of a possible 5 stars and also sports features like LKA, LDW, frontal collision avoidance system, ABS, traction and stability control, auto emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert and much more.

The Hyundai Kona is a car without compromise its an edgy, eye catching, vibrant and fun vehicle that will almost certainly bring a smile to any owners face. If you're in the market for a small SUV with a big personality and even bigger presence we highly recommend going to view and test drive a Hyundai Kona.
